Description

When you feel overwhelmed by life's demands, trials, and emotions, you are not alone. God welcomes you into his rest and peace.

You Are Welcomed by a loving God is the gospel truth we need to hear when life is an unruly combination of responsibilities, relationships, interruptions, dreams, and drama. In this ten-week devotional, author and women's ministry leader Trish Donohue helps women who are weary turn to the Lord, put down their burdens, rest in his welcome, and then welcome others to walk with Jesus too.

Trish shares stories of biblical men and women who brought their burdens to the Lord. Each story exemplifies a different sort of pressure, including busyness, disillusionment, crisis, isolation, envy, doubt, fear, and failure. You are not alone in what you're facing, and God wants to meet you in the same ways he has shown himself to his people from the beginning. A prayer journal with coordinating cover is also available.

  • Easy-to-follow daily format of Scripture reading, devotional reflection, and simple application questions.
  • A beautifully designed devotional in the Gospel Truth for Women series, helping women to identify their struggles, go to Scripture to meet God, then share those truths with family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers.
  • Relatable for busy women of all ages and stages making it perfect for gift-giving.
Trish Donohue is a wife and mom who writes from her kitchen table in West Chester, PA. A desire to disciple her girls, paired with a love for writing, inspired her to author Between Us Girls: Walks and Talks for Moms and Daughters. She and her husband, Jim, have two sons and two daughters. They attend Covenant Fellowship Church in Glen Mills, PA, where Jim serves as a pastor.

Endorsements

"As a working mom, I often wake in the morning with a list of things to do and needs to take care of already running through my head. Rarely am I intentional to consider and pursue my own need for refuge, rest, and refreshment. Where do I even start? It's easier to start with the day's to-do list, so before I know it, I'm off and running. Trish Donohue understands the tension we feel and knows the time constraints we're under, and she also knows how much we need Jesus. She gives us an accessible runway to meet with him. Just what we need."
Christine Hoover, Author of Seek First the Kingdom and Messy Beautiful Friendship

"Trish Donohue writes with warmth and wisdom, humor and humility. Weaving together stories and biblical truths, her ten weeks of devotions lead us to sit at the feet of Jesus. Are you weary and heavy laden? In this book, you will find rest for your soul."
Katie Faris, Author of He Will Be Enough and God Is Still Good

"I've known Trish for twenty years and have watched her depend on God through life's ups and downs. Over that time, she's cut a well-worn path to the Savior. You are Welcomed is an invitation to join Trish on a daily journey to better know and depend on Jesus. I'll be getting a copy for my wife and daughters. I want them to benefit from the biblical truths and wise counsel Trish offers in this beautiful resource."
Marty Machowski, Family Pastor; author of The Treasure, The Ology, WonderFull, and other gospel-rich resources for church and home

"Life is often a lot, but the encouragement and advice of a godly woman with life experience makes it easier to bear. In this book, Trish Donohue does what the best of friends do: she points us back to God's Word, where we find strength for our souls and courage for our circumstances. Packed with Scripture, these brief meditations will refresh your heart with the gospel of Jesus Christ."
Nicole Whitacre, Coauthor of Girl Talk, True Feelings, and True Life

"The Lord of the feast invites us to come. Yet, some of us are strangely slow in our coming. Trish Donohue's book extends a bridge and lends a hand to women who want to think deeply about Christ and their lives of faith. The feast awaits."
Irene Sun, Author of Taste and See: All About God's Goodness

"When life feels overwhelming, it's tempting to grit our teeth and try to claw our way out of the chaos on our own. You Are Welcomed shows us a better way. Relating common experiences with timeless truth, each devotion lifts our eyes to the God who sees our struggles and is strong enough and tender enough to help us."
Amy DiMarcangelo, Author of A Hunger for More and Go and Do Likewise

This is a 10 week devotional that has 5 days for each week. Challenging as well as encouraging.

I’m so glad I found out about this devotional. It is so beautifully made and the author is transparent in giving examples from her own life. My sister wanted one when I told her about it so I got one for her. I bought 7 more to give away to others. Obviously I highly recommend this book if you long to be closer to Jesus as a way of life❣️

    Great Devotional!

Gospel-centered, faith imbuing, joy instilling. Each chapter is an opportunity to encounter the Savior and savor His welcoming grace. I'm excited for my wife and 12-year-old daughter to work through this together this year!

    Quality paper

    Posted by Sue on 12 11 2023

This journal type Bible study is constructed of very high quality, heavy paper which in turn makes the book heavy (for toting around) and it is hard to open/hold for reading and writing in. I took my copy to the office supply store to get a spiral binding put on, so now it opens flat and is easier to use.

    Great devotional for overwhelmed women

    Posted by Wendy on 12 06 2023

This new devotional for women has been both an encouraging balm and challenging prompt to me over recent weeks. It’s structured to last for 10 weeks and is for women feeling burdened, overwhelmed and that life is all a bit too full. Each day starts with a prompting question, has a short bible reading, two pages of comments, and three questions to consider in more depth. It’s a simple, yet remarkably effective format. It’s also a visually attractive book, which would make it a very nice gift. Donohue is a skilled communicator, bringing God’s word to bear to our current experience. It is clear she knows the challenges of women’s lives today, but she also is honest about our sinful struggles, temptations, and areas where we need to be pushed a little. The overarching message was of the grace and rest offered to us in Christ, coupled with a desire for sanctification and godly growth.

Great guide for finding Christ in the chaos of life

Posted by Shirley Alarie on 11 15 2023

Author Trish Donahue’s devotional You Are Welcomed is a delightful, relatable, and extensive (10-week) journey in seeking God through the daily chaos. As part of New Growth Press’s ‘Gospel Truth for Women’ series, You are Welcomed is packed with every tool in a good ‘devotional toolbox’. These tools include Scripture verses, relatable Bible stories, great narrative storytelling that links biblical truths to our daily lives, and questions for reflection – along with a few blank lines for journal lovers to jot down their answers. You Are Welcomed is a real gem! It is an excellent guide to help readers ‘seek Christ’, as we are invited to do in Jeremiah 29:13. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself or a lady you love to this devotional.
