Description

"Let's read the Acrostic of God together
to help you to make him your awesome treasure.
We'll read it, rap it, or sing it it's fun!
Till Jesus comes back and his kingdom has come. . .
He's the Alpha and Omega, from A to Z;
his beauty and his glory we were made to see."

Catechism can be fun! The Acrostic of God is a joy to read and reread, and a wonderful tool to help kids absorb eternal truth about God.

By giving children an alphabetical list of the titles and attributes of God written with a rhyming beat, Jonathan Gibson and Timothy Brindle make The Acrostic of God fun to read and easy to memorize. Each characteristic, A to Z, weaves together a beautiful picture of God.

Using the alphabet to teach about God has a rich history in the Bible, especially in the Psalms and Lamentations. Several of the psalms notably Psalm 119 begin with letters of the Hebrew alphabet, forming an acrostic that spells out the entire alphabet.

The authors make learning theology fun and effortless. Their book shows God as he is, not "just to know about him more in our brains, but to know him as the God of glory who reigns."

Illustrated by C. S. Fritz, The Acrostic of God is the first in the Acrostic Theology for Kids series that introduces children ages five to eleven to systematic theology uniquely on their age level.

Readers will find a QR code in the back of The Acrostic of God that they can scan to listen to the audio version of the book which Timothy Brindle reads in rap style.

In coordination with the release of the book, Timothy Brindle has released The Acrostic of God: Rap Album with songs based on the content of the book. The album is available for purchase at timothybrindleministries.com in both MP3 and CD formats.

    Alphabetical Guide to Salvation

    Posted by Laura on 10 25 2022

The Acrostic Salvation is organized as an alphabet book and features words related to salvation. Each letter features a word or words coupled with scriptural references that support the text and a simple illustration. The book concludes with a basic truths section that include the Lord’s Prayer, the 10 Commandments, and the Apostles’ Creed. While this complimentary book was provided for review by New Growth Press, no other compensation was given. All remarks are my personal and honest opinions.

    Ebook

The Acrostic of God is a memorable read. Each page has a beautiful illustration, a short, rhyming paragraph about the attribute or characteristic of God, and a corresponding verse or two. This book isn’t quite what I was expecting, for a kids picture book. I have read a number of faith-based ABC books, but this one deals with really complex concepts, that you don’t really expect kids to even be aware of, and aren’t always the ‘standard ones’ you’d expect. But I think that’s okay, because kids can handle more than we give them credit for. And teaching them at least the concepts early means there is a good foundation to build on as they grow up. I believe this book will appeal especially to families who are following a classical educational style. Memorizing concepts and facts to build on for the future. Personally, my favorite page is O, for the omni-statements, simply defined, and practically applied, possibly better than I have ever heard. I received a digital copy from Read with Audra, and chose to review it here.

Posted by Michele Landis on 10 19 2021

This book was terrific! The rhyming made everything fun, and the artwork was amazing. I also liked that they included the 10 Commandments, the Lord's Prayer, and the Apostles' Creed at the end. Awesome book! Can't wait for the rest of the series!!! I'm looking forward to sharing this with the younger children and their parents that I know. Great work!!!!

    Acrostic of God

The material and rhyming was fun and catchy. the attributes were beautiful and having them in alphabetical order will only assist in our children remembering them. The only critique I would offer is the attention span for most children is much shorter than this book. The passages need to shorter. the illustrations are lovely and engaging for most ages.

It’s very exciting to see the creativeness of these 2 Brothers, Jonathan & Timothy. I like how the book is filled with vibrant colors and how each letter has an Idea of God inserted into it. The rhyme scheme in each letter is Rowdy too.
