Description

The Best News of All helps children remember the angel's announcement to the shepherds in Luke 2:10-11: "Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord."

The birth of Jesus is truly the best news of all. The angel's good news of the arrival of the Savior told to the shepherds long ago is still good news for us all today. It's the reason why we celebrate Christmas each year!

In The Best News of All, Sally Michael helps parents to instruct the mind and engage the heart of their children as they learn Scripture. Each page shows pictures and asks questions to engage them in understanding the verse. Repetition of the verse throughout the book helps children memorize the Bible verse after just a few readings. Also included are pointers for helping children memorize and suggestions for activities that will reinforce "Living by the Word."

  • Christmas-themed edition of the Bible Verses to Remember series for ages 4-7.
  • Bright, fun illustrations by Sengsavane Chounramany bring the angels' message to the shepherds to life.
  • Builds a foundation for memorizing Scripture and seeing God's work in salvation.
Sengsavane "Savane" Chounramany was born into a Lao-Hungarian family, has lived in many countries, and is now settled in Argentina. She is fond of saying she was born with a pencil in her hand. She loves to travel and, through colorful illustrations and animations, shares her experiences with everyone—and now with her own little one as well.
Sally Michael is a cofounder of Truth78 and has authored curricula and books marked by a passion for developing God-centered resources for the spiritual development of children. For 16 years, Sally served as minister for children at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota under the leadership of John Piper and of her husband, David. This new series of short and attractive books, Bible Verses to Remember, helps parents and Christian workers accomplish both goals. They focus on verses that express truths central to our Christian faith and the questions and narrative show what these verses mean and how important they are to our lives. Love this sweet book!

    Posted by Kate Guthrie @remedystorytime on 11 09 2024

This book is so sweet and it helps your children memorize the following Bible verse: "Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior who is Christ the Lord." (Luke 2:10b-11) This beautifully illustrated book focuses on what the shepherds experienced when an angel appeared to them to announce the birth of baby Jesus. The verse and phrases from the verse are repeated throughout the story, this helps kids to learn the verse in a very natural way. I love that the gospel is told within the context of the angel's announcement! "Jesus, the Son of God, was born to be the Savior of all peoples. He would take away the sins of everyone who would believe in him. He would save them from punishment and bring them to heaven. This is the greatest, best good news of all! It is good news of great joy!" This book is definitely going to be a favorite this holiday season! Im always so grateful to find books that focus on the true meaning of Christmas! I'm looking forward to using this book to help my girls memorize this passage during the Christmas season. "The Best News of All" is such a great addition to your home library, l'd definitely recommend purchasing a copy!

The Best News of All would make a lovely gift for an important child in your life.

Posted by Lori Horton on 09 25 2024

Part of the Bible Verses to Remember series, Sally Michael has created a book that looks deeply, piece by piece, at the Scripture from Luke 2:10b-11. Starting with the whole verse, the scene is set and children look at the world around them to feel what the shepherds might have felt, to understand what fear would feel like looking up into the sky to see something that didn't belong there. Then, phrase by phrase, the scripture is explored and the child comes to understand why this verse is so beautiful and important. It reminds us that Christ came to be savior to all, everywhere. With beautiful illustrations from Sengsavane Chounramany, this verse is brought to life. By pairing the illustrations with the phrase by phrase look at the verse, this Bible verse can easily be memorized by children. What a wonderful thing at Christmas it would be to memorize this lovely verse. This book would be beautiful to share parent to child, grandparent to child, older sibling to younger sibling, and more. The Best News of All would make a lovely gift for an important child in your life.

A special picture book for children

Posted by Cover Lover Book Review on 09 19 2024

“The Best News of All” is a special picture book for children, explaining the birth of Jesus. I love the special way this book describes the night that Jesus Christ was born, and the significant meaning of His gift. Focusing on Luke 2:10b-11, but explained in a simple yet accurate way, children will understand what the best gift of the Christmas season really is. There are simple ways to remember the great news that are listed in the back of the book, such as singing, praying or memorizing the core verses of the story. This is a wonderful way to introduce preschoolers to the meaning of Christmas and to understand why Jesus is the best gift we’ll receive. #CoverLoverBookReview received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions are 100% mine.

    The Best News of All

    Posted by Whitney on 09 03 2024

In this latest installment of the Bible Verses to Remember series, Sally Michael presents the Christmas story from Luke 2 to younger children. I felt this was a great resource especially for my 3 year old to hear the repetition of Christ’s birth, the best news of all. The continual repetition is great for helping younger children remember what they are listening to. Each page reiterates the good news that we can rest in knowing God sent his son, and the ending has helpful tips for parents to further encourage leading young ones to trust in the best news of all! Thank you to New Growth Press for my copy.
