Description
Paul S. Kim’s study of Daniel guides Christians in how to live with courage and conviction in a world that is not their home.
How do you live as a Christian in a world that doesn’t follow Jesus? The Bible speaks of the Christian life as living in exile. In exile, you feel like you’re not at home, and there’s a sense of pressure to conform to outward pressures. Some people get lost in fear, and others just try to blend in. But the book of Daniel calls us to live out our faith without compromise while still reaching out in love to those around us.
Daniel: Standing Firm in Adversity challenges participants to live by faith, even when it causes suffering. Readers will see that Daniel’s bravery in the face of opposition and threats came from his absolute trust in his God, who brought him to Babylon to be a blessing to others.

“The book of Daniel can feel both difficult and distant, but Paul Kim guides us with a sharp mind and a pastor’s heart. It’s hard to balance theological richness and real-life application, but this ten-week study exists in that beautiful tension.”

Remarkable study
Daniel: Standing Firm in Adversity is a remarkable, timely study. Daniel stood against significant adversity with great strength and conviction. He is a great example we can use today as we find being a Christian in a very unchristian environment difficult to navigate. This study is inspiring and encouraging for us to stand firm in our faith, even through hardships. And what better specimen for us than Daniel. His faith, courage, and prayer life are wonderful examples to learn and live by. I appreciate the depth and simplicity of this study, and like how each lesson is uniformly organized, with scripture verses, readings, and discussion sections. This is designed for group study, although I prefer personal study and feel it suits that as well. First Line (Introduction): All of us face adversity. DANIEL: STANDING FIRM IN ADVERSITY
Paul Kim has done an outstanding job of bringing the power of the Gospel through the life of Daniel. The exiled Daniel resolved that he would not defile himself but would stand firm in the midst of adversity. He certainly was a godly and faithful example who suffered for his faith. But more importantly, Daniel points to the greatest exile, the incarnate Lord Jesus, the ultimate suffering servant, exiled on the cross, to brings us home.
