Description

Give God Your Worries helps children learn how God takes care of his creation and especially them and to remember 1 Peter 5:7, "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."

God takes care of birds, animals, the sun and rain. He takes care of everything in his world. And he takes care of us, too. But we can sometimes be anxious or nervous. Jesus wants us to remember he cares for us and we can cast—or throw—our worries on him.

In Give God Your Worries, Sally Michael helps parents, teachers, and caregivers to instruct the mind, engage the heart, and influence the will of children as they learn a new Scripture. Each page shows pictures and asks questions to engage them in understanding the verse. Repetition of the verse throughout the book helps children memorize the Bible verse (ESV) after just a few readings. Also included are pointers for helping children memorize and suggestions for activities that will reinforce "Living by the Word."

  • Part of the Bible Verses to Remember series for ages 4–7.
  • Bright, fun illustrations by Sengsavane Chounramany bring the Bible verse to life.
  • Builds a foundation for memorizing Scripture and seeing God's work in the world around us.
Sally Michael is a cofounder of Truth78 and has authored curricula and books marked by a passion for developing God-centered resources for the spiritual development of children. For 16 years, Sally served as minister for children at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota under the leadership of John Piper and of her husband, David. Sally and David live in Indianapolis, Indiana. They enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren.
Truth78 is a vision-oriented ministry for the next generations—that they may know, honor, and treasure God, setting their hope in Christ alone, so that they will live as faithful disciples for the glory of God.
We are committed to developing resources and training that are God-centered, Bible-saturated, Gospel-focused, Christ-exalting, Spirit-dependent, doctrinally grounded, and discipleship-oriented.
Sengsavane "Savane" Chounramany was born into a Lao-Hungarian family, has lived in many countries, and is now settled in Argentina. She is fond of saying she was born with a pencil in her hand. She loves to travel and, through colorful illustrations and animations, shares her experiences with everyone—and now with her own little one as well.

"As important as it is to help our young children memorize key Scripture verses, it also makes a big difference if they are led to think deeply and clearly about what those verses mean! This new series of short and attractive books, Bible Verses to Remember, helps parents and Christian workers accomplish both goals. They focus on verses that express truths central to our Christian faith and the questions and narrative show what these verses mean and how important they are to our lives. Give God Your Worries

What a sweet, helpful book! A couple of my grandchildren are going through anxiety and I've found this book to be a great resource. The artwork is gorgeous and inviting, but the theme itself is powerful without being heavy-handed or preachy. The text is reassuring and empowering as it encourages kids to memorize scripture in dealing with their fears. Love it!

I’m falling in love with the Bible Verses to Remember series by Sally Michael! In Give God Your Worries: Bible Verses to Remember kids are taught through the Scripture 1 Peter 5:7 how to give God your worries. Give God Your Worries explains how you can “cast your anxiety” in tangible, easy-to-understand ways that kids can understand. There is also a Parent Guide and other resources to help with the topic of anxiety and how to memorize Scripture. I love the wealth of knowledge and information that is in Give God Your Worries: Bible Verses to Remember! How Sally Michael describes 1 Peter 5:7 is practical and makes sense. You could easily use Ms. Michael’s description about casting anxieties away as an object lesson. The beautiful illustrations by Sengsavane Chounramany help set the tone and feeling to the book. The helps that Ms. Michael includes in the book are definitely worth a look into. I believe that not only can Give God Your Worries: Bible Verses to Remember inspire an object lesson, but you can also use the book to help create a lesson or do a devotion time. If you are looking for a book to help your kids learn Scripture, with helps for the adults as well, then I highly recommend Give God Your Worries: Bible Verses to Remember by Sally Michael!

In the age of having children identify, name, and understand their emotions, Give God Your Worries addresses the typical emotion of anxiety – from a Christian perspective. The verse to remember in this book is 1 Peter 5:7, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” While this might seem like a difficult concept to help a pre-schooler understand, author Sally Michaels walks readers through what it means and what it might look like to cast your worries on God. The book reads like a parent or teacher might explain the concept, which naturally opens up the topic for more discussion. Michael’s also includes additional information and tips for parents at the end. The illustrations by Sengsavane Chounramany are delightful, colorful, and full of fun detail. The characters include racial and ethnic diversity. Children will enjoy the variety of cute animals that are used as an example of how we can count on God to provide for us, as He provides for the animals. Give God Your Worries is one installment of the Bible Verses to Remember series and would be a helpful addition to any classroom or family library, as worry and anxiety will be a topic to be addressed regularly for many children.
