Description

In Coop Learns He Can, the youngest member of the Wheelie family learns that he is fearfully and wonderfully made by God.

Coop dreams of doing big, important things like his older siblings do. He is excited to go off-roading with Joy, a Jeep, but as a MINI-Cooper, he can’t keep up. Coop becomes sad that he isn’t built to climb rocks and fling mud like his sister and wonders if the Bible verse they had been memorizing about being fearfully and wonderfully made applies to him. When Joy gets stuck and needs her brother’s speed and agility to rescue her, Coop realizes that God did give him special talents of his own.

The third book in The Wheelies series, written by Sarah Reju and illustrated by Tania Rex, Coop Learns He Can will show children ages 3–8 that God made each person unique and special with their own purpose.

  • Children will learn that God made them just as they are and to trust that God knew exactly what he was doing.
  • Children will be captivated by a fun story about a family of cars and trucks.
  • Special section for parents provides points for further conversations about embracing our strengths and weaknesses.
Tania Rex was born and raised in Vilnius, Lithuania. She's happiest when she can take an idea and turn it into a picture. Experimenting with styles and drawing is how she spends most of her spare time. Tania draws inspiration from little everyday miracles, aiming to point audience attention to the ever-present magic of real life.
Sarah Reju, MDiv, is a pastor’s wife and homeschooling mother living in Washington, DC. She is the author of God Is Better Than Trucks and God Is Better Than Princesses. Sarah and her husband, Deepak, have five children.

    Fun kids book

    Posted by Wendy on 04 07 2025

This is the third book in the Wheelies series about Coop, the youngest car in a family of seven. Sarah Reju has created a fun world of cars and trucks, all with different skills and personalities. Coop has been told he is fearfully and wonderfully made, but he's not quite sure how that can be when he feels unable to keep up with his sister. Yet, it turns out that his ability to zip around and fit through small spaces is exactly what she needs when she gets into trouble. Tania Rex's colourful illustrations show a fun world and expressive faces on the cars.

Such a good message for siblings!

We love this series & have been so excited about the latest book “Coops Learns He Can.” I love how this one highlights the differences and uniqueness in siblings. Siblings can often be one of the very first sources of comparison, so I love how this book paints a picture of how siblings each bring their own strengths and weaknesses to the table and how we can celebrate those differences! In this book, Coop and Joy go on a little off-roading adventure & Coop quickly realizes he can’t handle the terrain like his Jeep sister, Joy. “Why couldn’t he be big and tough and strong like Joy? Why couldn’t he crash through streams and pound over rocks like she did? It just wasn’t fair.” But after Joy gets into trouble, Coop is the only one who can help her get out. “‘I praise you, God, because of the wonderful way you created me,’ Coop smiled as he prayed. He might never be an off-roader like Joy, but God had a good purpose for him too.” With an emphasis on Psalm 139:14, children will hear how they are “fearfully and wonderfully made.” This book also includes some additional pages at the end with questions for children like “when do you feel jealous?” and a note for parents. If you have car lovers in your home, these books are a must, but truly the messages are so wonderful for any child! *I received a review copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

    Such a Heartfelt Message!

What I love about this story is how it gently imparts the message that God has crafted each of us uniquely, with our own strengths and purposes. It's a lesson that's so vital for our little ones to grasp, especially in a world that often emphasizes comparison.

Another Great Book in the Wheelies Series

    Posted by Jane M. on 03 18 2025

I loveThe Wheelies series by Sarah Reju. Coop is a character pre-schoolers can relate to. In Coop Learns He Can the messages are that God made us all unique and that no matter how small we are, we do have a purpose. Tania Rex’s illustrations are whimsical. Young children will enjoy them as they expand the text. They tell the story so that young children can understand the story even without having to read. I appreciate the section at the back of the book for parents. It includes questions as well as parenting tips.

Another great book in this series!

Posted by Lia Ross Reads on 03 05 2025

This book is such a great reminder for kids (ages 3–8) that God has made each of them with unique gifts and a purpose. The story is engaging, and the illustrations are vibrant and fun. I especially love the note for parents at the end, which offers helpful conversation prompts to dive deeper with your little ones. It’s an especially great read if your child is into cars—my own little one loved it!
