Jesus is bigger and more powerful than any superhero. He can turn water into wine, calm a stormy sea, give sight to the blind, and even raise the dead. When Jesus is with us, God is with us. Author Jared Kennedy uses simple words and concepts to help toddlers and preschoolers understand that Jesus is powerful and good. He isn’t just stronger than any superhero, he is God—the King of the universe.

This beautifully illustrated board book for ages three to five is third in the Beginner’s Gospel Story Book series. Children will learn that Jesus is God through the story of his miracles and be encouraged to go to him for help because he cares for them.

The preschool-friendly pictures in Jesus Is Bigger Than Me will also help teach about shapes, colors, and counting. Children will be captivated by the bright, modern illustrations and the simple encouraging content will turn their hearts to Jesus.

“If someone asks me where to find Bible stories for preschoolers, I love to tell them about Jared Kennedy. In his new board book, Jesus is Bigger Than Me, Jared retells with freshness and clarity the true stories of Jesus’s miracles. Your children will love to look at the bright and playful illustrations from Trish Mahoney, and they’ll love to hear that ‘Jesus is good and powerful,’ that ‘Jesus is stronger than death,’ and ‘Even scary things obey Jesus.’ This is a little book about a great Savior!”
Champ Thornton, Pastor; author of several books, including The Radical Book for Kids and Why Do We Say Good Night?

“Jared's children's books are always my favorites to use in our special needs ministry class at church. Jesus Is Bigger than Me is especially helpful as we teach our students that Jesus’s miracles show us we can trust him to meet our needs. He is more powerful than any problem we face! Seeing Jesus’s power in Scripture helps our students have confidence that he will be with them when they need his help. Jesus Is Bigger Than Me makes this message clear and easy for all my students to understand.”
Sandra Peoples, Inclusion Coordinator for special needs families, Heights Baptist Church, Alvin, Texas; special needs ministry consultant for the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention

“The world will demand our children deny miracles and believe in materialism. But we must rescue our kids and instruct them that Jesus did miracles. Jared Kennedy’s Jesus is Bigger Than Me wonderfully recounts four of Jesus’s miracles that we all should remember.”
Deepak Reju, Author of On Guard and Preparing for Fatherhood; pastor of biblical counseling and family ministry at Capitol Hill Baptist Church, Washington, DC.

“Jared’s heart is for generations of children to trust and obey Jesus so that they can know, experience, and enjoy him as Lord and Savior. In this short book, Jared reminds children and adults alike that Jesus’s power provides for us and protects us so that we can find rest in him. I look forward to reading this book to my grandchildren!”
Robert K. Cheong, Executive director of Gospel Care Ministries; author of Restore: Changing How We Live and Love; elder at Sojourn Church Midtown, Louisville, Kentucky

“Through beautiful pictures and well-crafted words, Jared Kennedy helps kids see that God is so powerful he can do anything. There are few things more comforting to the heart of a child than knowing that Jesus is bigger and Jesus is better than everyone and everything.”
Sam Luce, Pastor of Families, Redeemer Church, Utica, New York

“Every night I sit with my children and read them books. I often reach for books written by Jared Kennedy because they clearly teach my children about Jesus and how their little lives intersect with the gospel. As I read Jesus is Bigger Than Me, I was moved by Jesus’s power over nature, sickness, and death. It’s a book we will pick up over and over again.”
Nathan Sloan, Executive Director of Upstream Sending; author of Multisite Missions Leadership; elder at Sojourn Church Midtown in Louisville, Kentucky

“This book does an incredible job of teaching little children the power of Jesus in their own language. Jared has a gift for making deep theology accessible for young children. Preschoolers will not only learn the stories of Jesus’s miracles, but understand more of who he is. This book is a great gift to parents and churches.”
Jenny Funderburke Smith, Minister to Families, West Bradenton Baptist Church

Intro to the Gospels with 4 key stories of miracles

Posted by Shirley Alarie on 09 01 2021

This beginner’s Gospel storybook – true stories of His miracles is another hit for author Jared Kennedy. Children will learn four key, popular Gospel stories, such as Jesus turning water into wine. The stories are sure to bring the Bible to life and spark the curiosity of children to learn more about Jesus. Each story is told concisely in three spreads. They include enough detail to be interesting but are simple enough for short attention spans. The creative and bright Illustrations by Trish Mahoney cap off a great reading and learning experience. An added bonus is the supplemental learning elements, such as concepts (empty versus full), colors, shapes, and counting. Highly recommended as an introduction to the Gospels.

    Wonderful tool for kids

This book by Jared Kennedy is actually a collection of stories that are in his full bible story book called: The Gospel Story Bible. I love the bible story book and have used it for our preschool Sunday School program. this is an 8.75 by 8.75 inch board book. So it is the same size as the full storybook bible, but a board book. It is 26 pages, and just under half a pound. Jesua is bigger than me contains these stories: Jesus Goes to a Party from John 2:1-12, Jesus Calms the Sea from Matthew 8:23-27, Mark 4:36-41, Luke 8: 22-25, Jesus Heals the Blind Man from Mark 10:46-52, Luke 18:35-43, Isaiah 29:18, Jesus Wakes Lazurus from Death from John 11:1-44 What I love about this book: designed for preschool ages, but would also be enjoyed by independent readers I think. the illustrations, simple, realistic, but child friendly. simple print, of different sizes and colors. good size book for reading to a group. Statements of truth- mostly about God- each story has ONE! Party: Jesus is good and powerful! Storm: Jesus is truly God! Blind Man:Jesus can heal sick people! Lazurus:Jesus can bring dead people back to life! Every story ends with a question that applies to the child: Party: Why do we celebrate and throw parties? Storm: Who do you call when you are afraid? Blind Man: What do you do when you are sick? Lazurus:Are you afraid of death? people fear death, but we don't need to because Jesus is stronger than death! Every story has a learning concept that is age appropriate to also discuss as you read! Party: Empty/Full, count the jars Storm: a storm Blind Man- blind and needing help Lazurus: waiting Great teaching- theologically appropriate and understandable- but real truth for kids who need it about our Savior and Rescuer- Jesus!! What I wonder about this book? Will people purchase these separate books over the full 52 story book? The big difference is the board book pages and the weight, the storybook is 2.65 pounds, and the board book is .45 pounds and has thick pages. When will Jared Kennedy expand his very well done children's gospel stories/events?
