Description

Introduce preschoolers to numbers found in Scripture with My First 123 Book of Bible Numbers.

Jonathan Gibson helps toddlers and preschoolers learn basic Bible facts along with their 1-2-3s. Each number from 1 to 12 has a bright and engaging page spread featuring a simple number fact and illustrations designed to help children practice their counting through finding the number throughout each page.

Parents, grandparents, and caregivers will love to use this book to teach the littlest ones Bible numbers in a fun, easy-to-remember way. By committing these big truths to their little hearts and minds, toddlers and preschoolers will be able to ground their young faith in God’s Word, which will guide them in the years to come. Children will learn about the writers of the Gospels, the days of creation, the fruit of the Spirit, and more.

My First 123 Book of Bible Numbers is the second book in the Big Truths for Little Minds series, which introduces children ages 3–5 to basic concepts of the Christian faith.

  • Toddler- and preschool-friendly introduction to the numbers found throughout the Bible.
  • Questions prompt children to find each number throughout each illustration.
  • Captivating illustrations by Michael Mullan will attract and hold the attention of young children as they learn to count.
  • Written by a seminary professor and father of four.

"Brilliant—it's the only word to describe it. Just the kind of book I would have loved as a child. My First 123 Book of Bible Numbers is a colourful and attractively illustrated way for our children and grandchildren to learn to count to ten. But more than that, it will help them to count on the Lord. But be warned—it is a very 'more-ish' book—if you have several young children one of them is bound to want to read it or have it read—again, and again, and again! Three cheers for Professor Jonny Gibson once again wanting to teach not only our pastors but also our families!"
Sinclair B. Ferguson, Author; preaching associate, Trinity Church, Aberdeen, Scotland

"As a new grandfather, I am building a collection of books I plan to read with my grandchildren. This will be one of them."
Tim Challies, Author of Seasons of Sorrow

"My First 123 Book of Bible Numbers will help families count and learn that God is the creator of everyone and everything. This is exactly the kind of book I want to read with my toddler."
Hunter Beless, Founder of the Journeywomen podcast; author of Read It, See It, Say It, Sing It!: Knowing and Loving the Bible

"No opportunity is more amazing and important for Christian parents than introducing each of their children to Jesus Christ and helping them learn about his Word and how to faithfully follow him. In My First 123 Book of Bible Numbers, Jonny Gibson has provided parents with an accessible, fun, and engaging way to introduce Scripture and numbers to their young kids."

    Delightful counting book

Posted by Cover Lover Book Review on 03 30 2025

My First 123 Book of Bible Numbers is a delightful counting book that introduces preschoolers to Bible basics. Each number from 1-12 offers a two-page spread of colorful illustrations and entertaining searches. Young readers are prompted to find items that correspond to a truth found in the Bible. One example is for the number 6: God made the world in 6 days. Can you find: 6 animals on the land? 6 animals that swim? 6 animals that fly? The counting activities are fun, the full-page illustrations are colorful and bold, and I love that a presentation page for gift-giving is included in the front of the book. The last page is a surprise, with a fun, challenging, and unexpected counting prompt. #CoverLoverBookReview received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions are 100% my own.

    Everyday Learning and Eternal Truths!

Posted by Rachael Bomsta on 03 28 2025

I had no idea what to expect from this book. I actually have never seen a Bible children’s book that focuses on numbers. My favorite part was that each number has a section on the page that asks the question “Can you find:” It proceeds to ask the child to find a certain number of images on each page. It’s very applicable for early math development! As a mama of four little boys (almost 5) who is always trying to be intentional about what I’m pouring into my kids’ minds and hearts, I love that this book helps connect everyday learning (like numbers!) with eternal truths. It’s one of those small things that can become a big thing over time—helping your child grow familiar with the Word, recognize key Bible stories, and understand that God’s truth touches every part of life…even counting.

    Wonderful!

    Posted by Kate @remedystorytime on 03 19 2025

"There is only 1 God who made the universe and everything in it." This engaging counting book is also a seek-and-find book. It has really fun and colorful illustrations and includes numbers 1-12 and 100. On each page there is a list of things to find, all reinforcing the number on that page (e.g., 5 is about David finding 5 smooth stones for his sling and then you are asked to find 5 shields, 5 spears and 5 birds in the sky). My 3 year old absolutely loves this book! It is very engaging and she loves counting and finding each item on the pages. It's a great book for reinforcing both counting concepts and Biblical concepts. Another fun way to use it is to have your child tell you the Bible story that goes with each number/illustration! I'd definitely recommend this new release from New Growth Press and Jonathan Gibson! "Jesus said that the good shepherd leaves his 99 sheep to go and find 1 lost sheep, and when he finds it that makes 100."

    Short, Sweet, and Simple

“My First 123 Book of Bible Numbers: Big Sums for Little Thumbs” is a simple, colorful, readable, fun little book of numbers. It is authored by Jonathan Gibson and illustrated by Michael Mullan. Each installment in the book has the main number, and then a related Bible detail, with multicolored graphic. Then there are questions to help the kids to go to the picture, hunt down that number and count. For example, the number 1, “There is only 1 God who made the universe and everything in it.” Then it asks, “Can you find: 1 moon? 1 star? 1 mountain?” and they go back to the creation picture and find the “1” items. When our kids were little, we found such books where the kids had to hunt and search really kept them engaged. And it opened up all kinds of little Dad and kid talks about some aspect of our faith. That’s the style of “My First 123 Book of Bible Numbers: Big Sums for Little Thumbs.” The whole book opens with a theme from Psalm 139:17–18, “How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I would count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you.” That’s really the whole idea behind the book. The publisher sent me an e-copy of the work for this review, for which I’m grateful. This is the kind of little, shiny resource I would look for as a dad, and as a grandpa. Short, sweet, simple, Bible-based, fostering good Bible-discussions with the kids. I highly recommend the book.

    Lovely Book for Little Ones

Posted by Lauren DuPrez on 03 12 2025

I received My First 123 Book of Bible Numbers compliments of New Growth Press in exchange for my honest review. My First 123 Book of Bible Numbers is the companion book to My First ABC Book of Bible Verses and this volume teaches little ones how to count. The book contains captivating illustrations that are sure to please adults and kids alike. Each page along with teaching a number, contains a Bible verse or reference pertaining to that number, and a list of things for children to find similar to Seek and Find books. The book includes numbers 1-12 and then ends with 100. This book is very endearing and a lovely tool for teaching little ones about the Bible while also teaching them how to count and recognize numbers. This a lovely book and I'm so grateful to have it in our home library!
